DeepStory needed a short video app that solved the related content problem. We designed and engineered a gesture-first iOS and Android platform with an ad-free creator ecosystem, real-time content association, and a structured beta program that built a pre-launch community before the first public release.

Key Platform Features
A swipe-left interaction model that delivers contextually related video content in real time, removing the need for manual search and keeping users inside a continuous, intent-aligned viewing experience from the moment the app opens.
A platform architecture built entirely without advertising infrastructure, enabling creators to build direct audience relationships and giving viewers an uninterrupted content experience that advertising-funded platforms are structurally unable to offer.
A backend content association layer that connects videos by topic, audio identity, visual style, and creator context rather than surface-level metadata tags, delivering related content that actually feels related rather than algorithmically approximate.
A structured iOS pre-registration and categorized feedback infrastructure that captured user signal across general experience, sign-up flow, app performance, and topic suggestions, enabling the product team to make data-informed iterations before the full App Store launch.
Our Services Provided
01
Conceptualization
We mapped DeepStory's core product vision against real user behavior in the short video market, identified the specific discovery and creator monetization gaps that established platforms leave unaddressed, and established the full product architecture and technical roadmap for a gesture-first, ad-free social video platform.
02
Product Design and UX Architecture
Our design team built the complete UX system in Figma around a two-gesture navigation model, swipe left for related videos, swipe down for saved favorites, optimized for zero-distraction content consumption with a dark-mode-first visual language that keeps user attention on the content throughout the session.
03
Cross-Platform Engineering
We built native-performance iOS and Android applications on Flutter alongside a Node.js backend handling real-time content association logic and an API gateway managing content delivery, user state, and beta program infrastructure across both platforms.
04
Quality Assurance and Performance Testing
We executed end-to-end QA across gesture recognition accuracy, video playback performance under variable network conditions, content association response times, beta registration flows, and cross-device rendering consistency to ensure a production-grade experience at launch.
05
Production Deployment and Launch Handover
We managed App Store submission preparation, phased beta rollout, platform documentation, and knowledge transfer, enabling the DeepStory team to independently manage product iterations, creator onboarding, and platform operations from day one.
01
Every major short video platform resets the content experience at the end of each video. Users had accepted this as normal, but it represented a real and unaddressed frustration. Building a discovery mechanic that solved this without requiring any user input was a product architecture problem with no off-the-shelf answer.
02
The entire product value proposition rested on a single swipe interaction. Any latency or misread intent in the gesture recognition layer would undermine the experience before users had a chance to understand what the product was offering. There was no room for approximation in the core mechanic.
03
Building without advertising infrastructure meant the product experience itself had to drive retention and organic growth from launch. Every design, engineering, and content association decision carried a higher stakes because there was no advertising budget to compensate for a weak product loop.
04
DeepStory needed an engaged pre-launch community on iOS before the public release, but the standard beta program tools are not designed for structured product feedback collection. The client needed a beta infrastructure that built audience and generated actionable product signal simultaneously.

Key Outcomes
Differentiated Market Entry
Launched with a product identity and interaction model that no existing competitor in the short video space offers, giving DeepStory a communicable positioning built on a genuine product innovation rather than a feature comparison.
Gesture-First Discovery at Production Quality
Delivered a swipe-driven related content discovery mechanic with frame-accurate gesture recognition and adaptive bitrate video playback that performs consistently across 4G, 5G, and WiFi conditions without user-perceivable degradation.
Pre-Launch Community with Structured Product Signal
The iOS beta program built an engaged early user base before the App Store launch and generated categorized feedback that informed the post-launch product roadmap with real user data rather than assumption.
Creator-Ready Platform Architecture
Established an ad-free content ecosystem with a creator-direct foundation, positioning DeepStory to grow within the segment of the creator economy that is moving away from advertising-dependent monetization models toward direct audience relationships.
